Is it ever too late to start exercising? Am I too old?
Better late than never, right? When you are young you do more exercise than you think through your daily activities but as you get older, your body and mode of life slow down and you don’t get much exercise. So, if you are getting up there in years, and just starting an exercise regime, good for you! Regular exercise in your life can strengthen your cardiovascular and respiratory systems, help maintain bone and muscle mass, reduce cholesterol and blood pressure levels, give you quicker reactions, and of course, burn more fat. Make sure you check with your doctor and talk about what type of exercise is right for you. Even if you just walk around your neighborhood, you are doing yourself a world of good. Start small and keep track of your progression. Studies have shown that people from the ages of 50 and up have reversed the signs of ageing by up to 25 years! Can you imagine feeling better at the age of 65 than you did at 45? Of course, it is always better to start young and keep exercising as you age but don’t get discouraged if you failed to exercise in your younger days. Within a month you’ll be feeling like you drank from the fountain of youth!
